Get your Halloween on with some creative nail art…

I popped into Box Park this morning to try out nail art pop-up shop ‘Illustrated Nails’ for a nail-bitingly, spooky manicure. Prices start from £10 to have your nails primmed and painted by friendly nail art experts like Chloe, who did my awesome skull designs.

Being a bit of a tom boy, I’ll admit that donning a manicure is not my usual style, (I’m much more likely to have bike grease on my nails!). Skeptical at first, but found myself thoroughly impressed by the skill and artistry of the work they do, which has given me a whole new understanding of the term ‘nail art’. Chloe was a pleasure to sit opposite for the ten-twenty minute session giving my an intriguing insight into the world of nail art in East London. As a manicure virgin there’s a first time for everything and I can say for certain that there will most definitely be a second time too!

With a whole range of frightful designs from cobwebs to skulls to get you in the All Hallows spirit, why not get creative with your nails? All the artists are fully trained and from fine art and design backgrounds so you can be sure you’re in safe hands as long as they haven’t had they’re morning latte right before, as Chloe tells me “I can’t do it if I’ve had a coffee, I get all shaky!”.
