Campfire Club at Kindred Studios
July 26 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Filling London’s green spaces with music, unamplified, outdoors, around a fire. A unique path for discovering music and London’s hidden green spaces, The Nest Collective’s outdoor summer series, Campfire Club takes you on a worldwide musical journey through the city. Celebrating London’s wild sanctuaries, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Campfire Club is a quiet place to come together and listen.
“One of the best evenings I’ve had all summer. Perfect for a Friday night chill after a long week at work, a great starter to a longer evening out on the town, or a way to escape London for a minute and let music jet you off to… wherever you want to be really. A 10/10 thing to do and I’d recommend it to anyone. You could even bring your nan.” EastLDN
Abatwa (The Pygmy) – a tribe identified as one of the most marginalized, voiceless and endangered populations in Africa. The album Abatwa: Why Did We Stop Growing Tall? brings together a dozen songs by singers, instrumentalists and rappers from this marginalized community in a soulfully raw insight into their world.
Koral Society – a trio of accomplished composer-musicians from three musical cultures: English pop-folk, West African Classical and international jazz. They have crystallised their music into sweet, delicate, finely textured English-Griot vocals backed by a rhythmic guitar-kora-double bass swing.
